Amazon’s Alexa has teamed up with UK health service provider NHS to provide health information via the voice assistant. The move was to be able to help patients who are unable to research health queries accessmore information. The project was initiated by the UK’s Department for Health to offer the service for the eldery and the blind to get information more easily. Although the service can be used by anyone, they hope that in turn this will ease pressure on the frontline NHS services.

PATCH PLANT HOTEL

Patch, the online houseplant store, launched the world’s first ever ‘plant hotel’ in London in a move to offer services to budding plant parents who need their greenery looked after while they go on holiday. The hotel is exclusively for house plants, and describes itself as a ‘5-star all inclusive botanicals-only hotel’. It offers its ‘green residents’ treatments from its plant wellness team, including a custom hydration spa. The 100-room pop-up hotel offered all its services for free for the month that it was open.

Walmart, the world’s largest retail company prides itself on being accessible to low-income households. Walmart now decided to offer health services with 19 clinics now across the US. The clinics provide basic medical needs hostedin its existing stores. Its first standalone health clinic in Georgia where, unlike its previous in-store clinics, it employs physicians and other medical professionals. The full service facility provides consumers with everything from primary care to dental, X-rays, counselling and a range of other medical services, making healthcare more accessible and more convenient for the everyday consumer.
